A small study in a tropical cloud forest in southwest Guatemala (LaBastille 1974) found that, in 1973, at least one, and possibly more, resplendent quetzals Pharomachrus mocinno nested in eight nest boxes installed between 1968 and 1973. A total of 16 nest boxes were installed.
